The Most Common Vaccinations

Hepatitis A:  One shot is 90% effective for stays up to one year. This vaccine needs to be given 4-6 weeks before you depart

Hepatitis B:  The Hepatitis B vaccine is a series of shots. Some countries recommend this series if you will be working in a medical environment handling blood etc. Check with Pastor Lane Campbell, the chaplain, whether or not you need this.

Typhoid:  Most areas recommend this. It is a one-time oral vaccine. This needs to be taken at least 6 weeks before departure for adequate protection. It will last for 5 years. You can get this from your personal physician, or local health department.

AIDS TEST:  All student missionaries going to the Marshall Islands and Russia must have an AIDS test. Also several South American countries require it. Check with Pastor Lane if you have a question.

***IMPORTANT! You MUST receive an original copy of the AIDS test results. The governments requiring this test will NOT accept copies of any kind.
